And The Verdict Is!

I LOVED it!

This one more than made up for my dislike of Jordanil's story.

I loved the selkie lore, and how sweet Devinmar was throughout the story.

I loved that Hallie was willing to live at sea with him, and that she didn't force him to give up his selkie life in the ocean.

I'm rating this one 5 stars!

And I must say, out of the entire series, this book cover is my favorite!

Then again, I've always had a thing for that darkly handsome look on guys. That slight edge of danger.

Thank you for joining me!

Be sure to come back for next week's edition of Books That Don't Suck Monday!

FYI
I will be taking a break from the Sons Of Herne series to review Christmas PNR for the month of December.
I will picking this series back up again in January!

Currently Reading -> DEVINMAR: God Of Litha

Welcome back to another edition of Books That Don't Suck Monday!

This week, I'm reading book five in the Sons of Herne series, DEVINMAR: God Of Litha!

This one was another purchase for me, again at $1.99

So far, my total out of pocket cost for reading the first 5 books in this series is only $6

Again, that's not that bad at all, and easily within anyone's book budget.

Try going into a traditional brick and mortar book store to buy 5 books for $6, and then get back to me on how well that goes for you!

You can purchase your own copy of Devinmar: God Of Litha on Amazon

Stay tuned for my honest review!

And The Results Are In!

Sigh

I just didn't like this one as much as I've enjoyed the others I've read so far in the series.

It's not horrible by any stretch of the imagination, but Jorandil's attitude at the beginning of the book just rubbed me all wrong. Also, it felt like there was more to the rest of the story than the actual love story.

Cadence had no self confidence. Through the majority of the story, she's very unsure, waffling back and forth on things, and we only get a mention of why she is that way when she visits Stella. You don't get the whole story of her sister, who is referenced as to why she works so hard in school and seems to be a large part of why she struggles so much after her life changing visit with Jorandil.

IDK, I just didn't like this one as much as I enjoyed the previous brother's, Tallisun, story.

In the end, I gave Jorandil: God Of Beltane four stars. I just couldn't get past that beginning of the book, and Cadence's attitude in the book.

Currently Reading -> JORANDIL: God Of Beltane

So following the next book in the Sons Of Herne series, I'm just starting to read Jorandil: God Of Beltane.

I purchased my copy from Amazon for $1.99
Again, it's not a bad price tag, especially when you factor in the two free books at the start of the series.

And The Results Are In!

So far, this one has been my favorite read of the series.
I just love how playful Tallisun is, and our sweet heroine is no pushover. Harper challenges Tallisun, and I just love that about her.
I feel like she really needed to stand toe to toe with him, or else he would have never fell in love with her.
We're also introduced to another God, a son of War. I'm curious as to whether or not we will hear more about him later on in the series.
His arrogant attitude made me want to see him knocked down a little off that pestle he seems to be perched so high upon.

Tallisun: God Of Ostara is another 5 stars for me! I left my ratings on Goodreads and Amazon.

Be sure to come back for next week's edition of Books That Don't Suck Monday!

Currently Reading -> TALLISUN: God Of Ostara

Welcome back to another edition of Books That Don't Suck Monday! This week, I'm reading book two in the Sons of Herne series, Tallisun: God Of Ostara.

This one was a purchase, out of my own pocket, and at $1.99, it's that not bad.
I don't have the biggest budget for books, but I don't feel put out by the $1.99 price tag.

You can purchase your own copy of Tallisun: God Of Ostara on Amazon

Stay tuned for my honest review!

And The Verdict Is...

I loved it! Like you had any doubts at all that I would? Really?
The second book was just as good as the first in series.
I'm was very pleased with the happy ending, yet I still felt like I wanted more of the back story for Brighid and Eradimus.
This one was another wonderful and richly detailed story that draws you right into the world of old gods and a timeless love that will never die.
I gave Eradimus: God Of Imbolic 5 stars on Goodreads.
This title is not available on Amazon, but it was available for FREE on Instafreebie.
So far, I'm truly enjoying my reading of this series! I'm already looking forward to the next book in the Sons Of Herne series.
As I read along, I can't help but keep wondering at the total back story of Herne himself. I'm hoping we'll get more tidbits of his backstory as I read through this series.

Currently Reading -> ERADIMUS: God Of Imbolic

So, I'm reading another #InstaFreebie for this edition of #BooksThatDon'tSuckMonday
This is the second book in the Sons of Herne series by J. Rose Allister.
If you were here for last week, I loved reading the series first, Dominus: God Of Yule, (You can find my review here) and I left a positive FIVE STARS review on Amazon.
Let's see how the second book stacks up against the first!
